“Recognition is not the goal of an artist’s journey; it is the result of remaining faithful to the work.”
Cristian Armenta is a contemporary Mexican artist living and working in Mexico.
Born in Culiacán in 1985, Armenta began painting at the age of ten and later studied Fine Arts at the Accademia D’Arte Firenze in Florence, Italy.
His work has been exhibited internationally and is held in private collections around the world. Armenta has been featured in publications including Vogue, Condé Nast, and Saatchi Art, among others. In 2020, he was recognized by Saatchi Art as one of the Top 20 Emerging Artists to Watch and was included in 100 New Voices, 100 Artists.
“Cristian applies paint with his hands, knives, and found industrial materials. His direct and highly physical process results in bold works that capture a range of emotions and movements.”
